Hanon Systems in Korea Obtains Certification for Business Continuity Management (ISO 22301)
DAEJEON, Korea, July 12, 2017 – Global automotive supplier Hanon Systems (KS:018880) has obtained third-party certification for its Korea manufacturing sites to the specifications set forth in the international standards organization (ISO) 22301 criterion for business continuity management. DNV GL is the global certificate authority that provided its endorsement during an audit conducted on July 11, 2017.
ISO 22301 is a management system standard that aims to ensure business continuity by confirming businesses are prepared and can recover from disruptive incidents. The standard itself emphasizes the need for a well-defined and disciplined incident response structure.
“Overall preparedness to build customer confidence is absolutely critical to ensure the ongoing flow of products and general operation of our business in the event of a disaster,” said Jay Son, chief operating officer of Hanon Systems. “This certification serves as a foundation that allows the company to be better equipped as a company to act with resilience in the event of an actual situation, and to build upon through training and education as we seek to continuously improve our ability to serve customers.”
With certification of the Korea-based factories complete, the company intends to propagate the ISO 22301 standard across its remaining global operations through 2018.
